Seam Ripping

Thanks for all the well-wishes for Baby Girl. She's had a fun birthday so far - taking an early bath with her Mermaid Barbie was quite a treat.

I have her presents saved for tonight...some "green" dishes and a tea set.

I spent the morning stressing about a bank error (at least I know that's what it was now). Apparently someone (at the bank) rejected one of my husband's salary checks on accident which of course caused some screw-ups with our account. But it's all taken care of now and I can relax.

So I thought I'd relieve some stress by doing some seam ripping.

I have both these projects just sitting on the side since who really wants to spend a bunch of time ripping out stitches?

(I finished this one already)

But I do want to finish them - one is a quilt and the other is the base for one of these.

(yep, it's attack of the dreaded spider stitches - I messed with the tension a little and it seems to be fine now - this is the Brother - my Bernina is still in the shop)

So I figured I'd force myself to do the boring part so I can get back to the fun part after.

Off to seam rip some more....

I secretly love seam ripping...perhaps it isn't so secret since a friend gave me a seam ripper that is ergonomically designed for my birthday...

Ugh! I really hate seam ripping. I hope it goes quickly for you!

Seam ripping is my most dreaded thing to do when it comes to sewing! Generally I just set the project aside and start all over.

My singer likes to make Spider stitches too. Someday I would love to move up to a Bernina!

At least stitches like that are easy to rip out. I hate ripping stitches. I have been known to scrap whole projects that would require a lot of ripping. I'm trying to get over that.

Anywho, happy birthday to Baby Girl! I wish I would have taken an early bath (and had a Mermaid Barbie to join me!). Sounds awesome!

those ones are easy to come out . . . but I had a machine that wouldn't free-motion, no matter what I tried. . . hope that's not the case for you! Love that pink at the edge :)

Bummer, I hate when that happens. I actually had the same problem with my last quilt. I hope it goes by quickly for you, and I look forward to seeing the finished projects!

Hi there!!! Okay so now I know it's not just me... I have a Brother machine, and my stitches (on the back) always look like this - what did you end up setting your tension to? Help!!! :)

I had those horrible stitches afflict me not too long ago! Don't even remember how it got "fixed", it just seemed to fix on its own.
Hope it's not too tiresome for you to rip it all out!

I hate it when my machine does the spider stitch!

I love your pink quilt with the khaki...I think that's one of my favorite color combos
