I finished up Rossie's blocks for Common Threads....

It's long and wouldn't fit in the picture so I folded it up a little.

This is going to be such a cool quilt.

I got the BEST mail today! Fun stuff.....Amy Butler Home Dec fabrics (they arrived so fast I couldn't believe it!)

I ordered them here on Wednesday and they came today - plus I had a coupon so they were 10% off! Such great customer service too!

I also got some of this in the mail - and I want to share it with you.

I am giving away a 10" x 30" piece - you'll get all the scenes with this piece. Leave a comment telling me your favorite munki munki print - how does that sound?

I think I'll go work on this outfit for Baby Girl - I'm wanting to attach this top to a bottom piece and turn it into a dress.

Moved

So yesterday I moved all my fabric so it would be closer to where I actually sew.

When I re-arranged my room a few weeks ago, I put the shelf with all the fabric in an awkward place and was feeling like I couldn't really get to things easily.

So now I can't buy anymore fabric since nothing else will fit - LOL!

I have a bunch of random things today:

I am looking for a good pattern/idea to use for November for A Notion or Two - I'm using LOVE by Amy Butler...

Anyone have any great ideas/links?

I also got an email today about giving away some sets of these stamps on my blog - I'll set up a post when they get here - fun right?!

Bought myself a few embroidery patterns from this cute shop to make for this swap....I love the princess and the pea - it's so cute!

And we are definitely doing this art project for our next Art co-op class. I'm going to read the book and then we can all make our own "wild things". I first saw it here - always amazing ideas!

OK I need to stop playing with this new toy and actually go sew - my list is getting longer and longer!

Dripping

It is so hot - 10:30 pm and I am dripping sweat!

We are having some hot days along with no wind and vog which just makes for miserable days.....I guess it's supposed to get better on Sat. - I sure hope so!

I did get some sewing in yesterday - quilted two quilts and started on the third.

 

I am trying pebble quilting on the third so it's taking a bit longer.....

And I got the best mail today - LOVE!

This is my favorite pattern of the group - will be ordering more yardage of it - gorgeous!

Soccer practice

I think that's my main reason for no sewing lately.

We get done with school and then there's just not that much time before we have to head to soccer practice. So I am always working on little things here and there and don't actually get anything done!

We are taking the day off tomorrow since our eldest is heading off to the water park with the church youth group (Hubby is taking off work to go as a chaperone - he's super excited!) so I'm planning on getting in some big-time sewing. 

I have quite a few finished tops that need to be quilted - so that's my goal tomorrow...start (and finish) a few of them.

I also ordered it in green and have already picked out the fabrics for my next boy quilt - but first I need to finish the pile I have in progress!

Ok hope to have lots of progress to report tomorrow!

Back in the saddle - sorta

Ok I'm finally back (I think)....been sick with a cold this past week but am finally feeling better today.

I've been so un-motivated this week - I'm sure it's because of the cold but still.

I did finally get a little sewing in today. I tinkered around with a few quilts I need to finish up but my brain just wasn't in it so instead I started a new project.

A quilted runner for the top of a small bookcase in the living room.  This quilt is my inspiration - I'm just making it smaller - 13" x 40".

 

(I used my tiny piece of Recess)

Slacking

I kinda feel like that's how my blogging has been lately.

I think one of the reasons has been the heat and lack of sewing due to that heat. Thankfully today it's much cooler and I am planning on heading to the sewing machine in just a bit.

Bela's birthday is on Sunday and we are having a tea party/sleepover with three of her friends tomorrow so I want to make some little totes with each girls' initial on them.

I had a wonderful mail day today - got my first-ever doll quilt in the mail!

It's from the DQS 7 swap and it's from Celeste. Isn't it so cute?!

Love the colors and the little tiny blocks - wow - thanks Celeste!

Also got some Disney munki munki that I bought on Ebay - how cute is the Pinocchio/Cleo one?!

I'm off to add them to the Flikr swap group now :-)

I finally took the remaining packages to the post office today and even managed a bit of sewing yesterday.

I quilted the DQS 7 quilt and now just need to finish the binding.

I'm anxious to get some sewing in this weekend - Bela's birthday is the 23rd and I want to make her a couple of things - and we are having a tea party/sleepover with three of her friends so I need to make some party favors too - not sure what yet.

Sorry to confuse anyone on the last post - it's actually an ipod touch, not an iphone - but still fun!

And now it seems (almost) everyone has an ipod. This little guy has the first one we ever bought - the first shuffle (yes - those are my headphones - apparently we need to get some more kid ones).

Bela has now inherited my pink ipod nano...

And this guy is busy putting songs on his nano that my mom gave us after she got a new one.

So they all loaded songs (mom-approved ones) and are pretty excited to have their own - not that they use them much but I think it's just the idea of it.

Did you see the soundtrack on mine - from this movie...which we (Hubby and I) loved!

We laughed and cried through the whole thing (warning: there was lots of swearing though). I think because we have kids we could relate to lots of things - my sister and brother-in-law saw it and didn't think it was that great.

Got a great swap package today from Elizabeth - I am loving that 1974 line (and it was the year I was born too!)

And now that I've finished my de-stashing, it's time for me to spend my credit here and get more fabric!

early birthday present

Thanks again so much for all the orders and nice emails from everyone.

I had some requests for quilting magazines and scrap bags so I added a few into the store and now I'm done - really this time!

My dad gave me this today as an early birthday present. He bought my mom a new one and so he inherited the old one and never used it so he gave it to me - yeah!

I would love to spend the day playing with it but I first I need to pack up some orders. And all this fabric is making me want to sew!!

Here's what my stash looks like now - in case anyone was worried I had sold all my fabric :-) Still have lots left!
