Sewing has once again taken a back seat to the baking. But mostly because my back is Killing me (I'm off to the chiropractor in a couple hours). It's been slowly getting worse and worse. I don't know if it's the soccer or what but I think (and hope) an adjustment is all I need. So I've mostly been lying around the past two days. I had contemplated going to soccer today and then quickly realized I was a psycho for even thinking I could go.
But I could bake some bread. Yesterday we tried out the olive oil dough and the brioche dough...both delicious. I am loving the olive oil bread - I think it's my favorite. The crust is so yummy!
Today it was pita bread. Which I ate with a gazpacho recipe from the book too. I changed it up (the gazpacho) since I didn't have everything but it is yummy and with a food processor, so fast! The pita bread is the main bread recipe just formed into round flat disks and baked. So good! I don't know if mine is really how it is supposed to be but I don't care. It's good and that's all that matters.
Instead of a pizza peel, I've just been using a plate. It works great and the bread slides off so much easier than anything else I was using. I need to try the pizza with this technique since the last time was a total disaster and we ended up with calzones instead of pizza since it stuck so bad.
The kids made some cookies out of Martha's book. I've only had one (and a half). I'm trying to be good - with the bread too. Can't let the scale creep up!!
