Ok let's try this again. I tried to post earlier but somehow wasn't able to upload any photos or save this as a draft.
I finished the quilting on my nephew's quilt. I love baby quilts. They are so fast! And small! I was going to just sew a line 1/4" in from each sashing strip but then decided 2 lines looked better. And since it was small it didn't take that long.
I've gotten myself into some busy activities - I volunteered to teach a couple "small" sewing classes this summer for our church. I'm only doing 2 - one night is a simple tote bag and the other is an apron. Both should be fairly easy and not take too long to sew up. I'm a little nervous about putting together all my demos and stuff but hopefully not too many people sign up for it.
The other is a little more labor intensive. Our wonderful babysitter (who is more like a member of our family) is getting married in September (our son is going to be the ring bearer) and she asked me to make the table runners for her wedding (25 of them). They are only going to be a foot wide and about 2 1/2 yards long. But she wants different ribbons sewn on them - the picture she has looks really pretty. The tablecloths are all bright pink and the table runners are brown (well, after we find the material) with different patterned ribbons.
I'm just nervous about them looking good. She's really nice and not bridezilla-ish at all so I know she'll like them no matter what - I just want them to be perfect.
That brings me to this question - Does anyone know where to buy ribbon online at a good price (we are limited to Walmart here in Hawaii)?
Guess I'll be looking at a lot of brown fabric soon. Lucky thing I can glance up and see this while I'm sewing!
