This morning I had a bunch of errands to run. One of them took me to the store where I bought my sewing machine in search of a new foot recommended by the "full-of-sewing-knowledge" Wendy (seriously - she's amazing!)
But I'm too tired to try it out and Hubby and I are hitting the town later with my brother and sister-in-law to have dinner and see Prince Caspian. FUN! We haven't been on a date in forever!
I also finally made it to a little quilting shop I had always heard about. They don't really carry fabrics that I love, but I did pick up some fat quarters of Mary Engelbreit's new line and one of her panels to make a quilt for a friend's birthday. It's the only quilt store I know of around here (and it's about 20 minutes away - which on this island is halfway through the island - HA HA) and they weren't very friendly. They have all the bolts arranged by color and seem to only have soft prints - no Anna Maria or Heather Bailey or anything like that. Guess I'll just stick with online - it's cheaper anyway (even with shipping).
I somehow have made a complete mess of the girls' blocks. I think I used 1/4" seam allowance on one set of blocks (Block A) and 1/2" seam allowance on Block B. Don't ask me why or how?! I think I'll just re-cut material for another set of block A since there are only 8 per quilt and there are 22 of Block B.
OK off to freshen up for my date with a sexy Latino :-)
