Trying to relax this evening since this morning was all stress :-)

(tried to make a lychee martini - needs more lychee....but hey, it's pink!) 

Went to Costco to get some things for Sunday's Father's Day BBQ.....Hubby took the older two (who had stayed home with my dad) to the Bay again - I really love how much he's been into going to the beach - makes me want to go more.

I really am bad about going - I think it's because I grew up here and am just used to it being there...but this summer I've made an effort to go with them instead of staying home and sewing or something.

After the games today, I started in on the curtains - just couldn't resist sewing something with all the FFA2.

All I have to do is add the ruffles to the bottoms and they are done...now the girls can sleep a little longer in the mornings hopefully!

Recipe for a great day

* Wake up to freshly brewed coffee and lots of Argentina goals 

* Take the kids to swimming lessons and sew your first hexies

 

* Come home to watch Mexico beat France

* Take a little nap while Hubby watches a different game

* Head down to the Bay for an evening swim

 

* And do it all again tomorrow (minus the swimming lessons!)

We've gotten the internet problem solved...it was almost nice to have so much free time - ha ha!

I'm back with lots of eye candy...got some fun packages in the mail yesterday....

We have been cruising along - started swimming lessons yesterday. We are there from 9:00 until 11:45 so I need to find something to bring and do while I'm there - and I can't really read since it's not very quiet...maybe I'll work on some embroidery or get into hexies?

OK off to work on those custom quilts....

No internet

Internet is down - so I can't check my email very often and no posting until I get it fixed (using my dad's computer for this)...hopefully it's a quick fix!!

In a good mood - and a winner!

So we tied England...which is better than a loss. And I don't care how that goal was scored - just that we got one!

The madness has begun

OK over the next month this may turn into a soccer commentary instead of a sewing blog - ha ha!

Yesterday was the start of this worldwide event for those of you that aren't soccer fans...and the games are on here around 1:30 am, 4:00 am and 8:30 am.

I woke up yesterday morning around 4 am and found my hubby in the living room watching the first game. His reasoning was that the rest of the world was watching the game - why shouldn't he be? And he's still off work (goes back in a week or so) so he's enjoying this mini-vacation. Oh and did I mention he's sporting a mohawk - it's his World Cup hairdo.

We've still been going to the beach every morning too - I promise to take my camera one of these days to show you all just how jealous you should be :-)

(apparently the dolphins have been visiting every day but we haven't seen them yet - they come later in the day....although we did have a star spotting yesterday - he was leaving the beach right when we got there)

This morning we are going to a friend's house for a "breakfast party" to watch the big USA/England game...

I have been doing some sewing too:

Finally finished a Quilting Bee Quilt - yeah!

It's from the second round of Common Threads - I used the last of some of my Urban Chicks fabric for the binding.

I really love it - and I love the back.

And since Hubby has been off, I got him to make a sewing table for me (it's actually a top that fits on top of my existing table).

I covered it in some oilcloth that I had in the stash - I really love it!

Oh and the giveaway ends today - I'll pick someone after I get home so if you haven't entered - go for it!

but this is how we ended the day yesterday...swimming here.

Hubby has been taking the kids to swim in the afternoons (and sometimes in the mornings too) and I joined the group - so nice!!

I'll try and take my camera one of these days and snap some pics.....sometimes it amazes me that I live here!!

The earlier part of the day was spent sewing all of these.....

She's going to cut them up once she gets them all....like this.

I made a couple of ties the other day using this great pattern (they are for a friend's wedding in July but I'm trying to be on top of things - I am making the little flower girl's dress too)...

(the fabric is from Patagonia - the bride works for them - it's hemp)

I also got my business cards in the mail from Vistaprint - love them!!

Now I'm caught up on all my quilting bee blocks and have moved on to a big custom order - I'll only be able to show sneak peeks until they get delivered - sorry!
